In rural Scotland, nothing signals spring like the first signs of narcissus piercing through soil, and Euan McCall's formative childhood memories involve spending most of his youthful years in one of the woodlands in his village, a simply magical place especially in spring – muscari, hyacinth, bluebells, snowdrops and millions of narcissus rioting mostly undisturbed beneath ancient chestnuts, oaks and peculiar hickory trees planted by friends and family decades ago.
